Duties of the Secretariat to the Council for Agriculture and Forestry Science and Technology

  1. To organize technical and scientific seminars in collaboration with domestic and foreign experts in order to discuss socio-economic and marketing matters and issues and to identify suitable policies and legislation and to select those policies which can be realistically developed for implementation;
  2. To provide secretariat services for DOPLA’s Directorates and to facilitate the organization and conducting of meetings of the Council for Agriculture and Forestry Science and Technology in order for the Council to consider, approve and accredit strategies, plans, programs, and projects for the agriculture and forestry sector;
  3. To liaise, cooperate, exchange information and share lessons learned concerning science and technology for agriculture, forestry, and rural development with both domestic and foreign stakeholders, as assigned by the Chairperson of the Council of Agriculture and Forestry Science and Technology;
  4. To coordinate with the Department of Organization and Personnel (DOAP) in the appointment of the members of the Council for Agriculture and Forestry Science and Technology in line with established standards and specified numbers of members;
  5. To perform other duties as agreed and assigned by MAF leadership;
